Abstract
An account of the emergence of the Warsaw Mathematical School, in the period between wars (1918-1939), which went from being periphery to center of mathematical research of tip in theory of sets and nearby branches, is also added points for the discussion of the idea of specializing the School in set theory through Fundamenta Mathematicae.
