Abstract

WHY DO ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION: THE NEED FOR A CONSCIENCE TAKE. Review article by the Ecuadorian academic Mirella del Pilar Vera-Rojas of the Faculty of Education, Humanities and Technologies, National University of Chimborazo, Riobamba - Ecuador. In this article, he exposes a bibliographic investigation of different scientific contributions and the collection of data from research works, succinctly presenting the environmental problems of the Riobamba canton of the province of Chimborazo in Ecuador, at the same time that a call is made to the awareness of citizenship in general and especially of children and adolescents, being environmental education, formal and informal, the main tool to achieve this purpose.
