Abstract
In the present article the research competence in the teachers in formation of the Program Bachelor in Mathematics of the University of Sucre is analyzed, in aspects associated with the recognition of the context to research, formative practice, knowledge production, spaces of formation, capacity of researching, and some difficulties presented during his formative process in front of the research component. Likewise, an improvement plan focused on strategies, tools, and resources to enable the development of researching skills in students and teachers is proposed.
