Abstract
This paper focuses on three central aspects of what are the arts of existence or a philosophical life for our present. The first highlights the intimate relationship between the appearance of philosophy and language in the ways of being as an event. The second highlights the importance of the monastic life in community and its aesthetic impact. The third emphasizes the importance of philosophical friendship and the complex relationship between philosophy and aesthetics versus contemporary
