Abstract

This article is part of the research developed with the intention of formulating the teaching management model for the National Police of Colombia, as one of the results of the agreement signed between the Swedish and Colombian Police to strengthen the police service. To contribute to the innovation of police education and to the fulfillment of the objectives set in the process of Modernization and Institutional Transformation - MTI is the purpose outlined. The proposal in this case is to strengthen the training of police men and women, through quality police teaching, situated and contextualized in the new realities and scenarios of coexistence and security in the country. The methodological route focused on a descriptive-applicative approach, with a qualitative analysis, allowed these main results: characterize the teaching practices of police teachers; as well as, the understanding and conceptualization of police teaching, police didactics, management model and teaching management. These typologies facilitated the identification and definition of the principles and components of a teaching management model, applicable to Police Training Schools, in order to contribute to the prospect of education in the National Police of Colombia.
