Abstract

The training factor, in a world where the knowledge economy increases its relevance as a source of competitive advantage, is essential for organizational and country success. The investigation aims to evaluate job training in a medium-sized company in Cúcuta, Colombia. The evaluation of job training is based on the characterization of the indicators of secondary and higher education, business training and administrative skills, through the application of an instrument to 138 companies. The results show that 92% of the medium-sized company is managed by a person with a professional degree and 74% of the organizations promote teamwork as a strategy to concentrate abilities, skills, knowledge and responsibilities. It is concluded that the medium-sized company in Cúcuta, bets on good indicators with respect to secondary and higher education, business training and administrative capacities, considering them fundamental tools for the improvement of the business sector.
