Abstract
This article is a reflection of a pedagogical approach to respond to the concern of education for the 21st century, favoring the teaching and evaluation of divergent thinking skills to solve modern problems, starting by understanding why traditional education does not meet these expectations. Divergent thinking as a tool for problem solving attempts to address forms of non-linear logic to respond to modern problems such as economic and ecological sustainability, the new challenges of politics and how to grow as a society in values. These problems that until today appear unanswered, must be solved by our students and the obligation that education has with them is to be oriented towards training in these skills to find answers beyond those arising from traditional skills.
