Abstract
When educating is synonymous with instructing, or accumulating knowledge that helps us give continuity to social imperatives (acquire a lot and quickly), we are talking about the nonessential superficial or pragmatic approach to education. It is a part, but not the whole. Holistic education requires the essential field, which, unlike its complementary one, is not demanded by society. However, it is the one that heals us.
The origin is related to the essential, deep, invisible and timeless side. Let’s ask ourselves if our look should not be emptying, unlearning, slowing down and minimizing.
Educators have the duty and privilege to promote the questioning of all those sterile social patterns that are rotting the meaning of life.
Conscious education demands unlimited selfknowledge, which directs us to the collapse of the ego. An awareness of ourselves is required. Self-education is the way for achieving this, so educators teach what we do to educate ourselves.
