Abstract
This essay focuses in the importance of teacher training in socio-emotional competencies so that future teachers can manage effectively the classroom, improving the well-being of both students and their own, and raising educational quality. Currently, teachers work in a context of constant change social, cultural and technological, so it is necessary to be prepared to face the challenges of cultural diversity, access to technology and social inequality. The socio-emotional training of teachers is essential not only to manage complex situations in the classroom but also to establish healthy interpersonal relationships, to encourage an inclusive environment and the comprehensive training of students. In this paper. This article emphasizes on socio-emotional competencies, as a prerequisite for the exercise of educational work. The socio-emotionally competent teacher is able to achieve academic success in their students and prevent their own emotional exhaustion. On the other hand, higher education institutions must integrate these competencies at all levels of teacher training, recognizing that teaching practice is a continuous process of emotional and professional development. The incorporation of socio-emotional competencies in the curricular program of education careers is a key issue to train future teachers that allows them to face the challenges of the 21st century. Finally, this essay emphasizes in the need to adopt educational approaches that promote an empathetic and collaborative learning environment that contributes to the social and emotional well-being of the educational community.
