Abstract
This article derives from the particular interest of the authors who, as they have seen, consider as an objective to understand the brain for the development of significant teaching and learning processes. Using qualitative research as a methodology as a guiding tool for the investigative process, general data has been collected to reach an understanding of the organ that is the object of study in this writing. Furthermore, Meaningful Learning, dependent on the student’s previous cognitive structure, requires making the teacher aware of elements that allow for an understanding of this important and influential body; as well as the endogenous and external factors that are relevant to carry out an educational process that fully benefits the student. As a result of the research, understanding the general aspects of the brain will make it possible in teaching practice to understand the influential factors in each individual that affect or benefit their teaching and learning process. Finally, it is concluded that the school must join forces so that the student is the protagonist in the middle of the process and the teacher understands how to transmit knowledge based on their understanding.
