Abstract
This study analyzes the determinants of entrepreneurial intention among final-year secondary school students in Boyacá, Colombia, within the framework of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). A Partial Least Squares Path Model (PLS-PM) was estimated on a sample of 50 students from Colegio Santa Cruz de Motavita, incorporating three exogenous latent variables (attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control) along with three sociodemographic control variables (gender, age, and socioeconomic level). Results, validated through bootstrapping with 5,000 subsamples, reveal that only perceived behavioral control is a statistically significant predictor of entrepreneurial intention (β = 0.549; p < 0.01; f² = 0.389), while attitude and subjective norm did not reach statistical significance. Control variables did not substantially alter these findings. These results suggest that perceived self-efficacy and resource availability are the primary drivers of entrepreneurial intention among secondary school youth, with direct implications for the design of entrepreneurship education programs targeting this population segment.
