Abstract

During the last decade, Latin America’s migration has gained great importance, especially due to what’s known as “Venezuela’s migratory exodus”, whose population has undertaken a search for a better quality of life in countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, among others. This scenario poses challenges for education, which must respond to the needs of a diverse and ever-changing population. In this context, Latin Americans critical pedagogice emerge as the fundamental theoretical guideline for analyzing and transforming educational realities in the context of migration. For that reason, this article reflects on the need for an intercultural education in Colombia that not only recognizes diversity, but also focuses on the reconstruction of critical thinking as the framework that transforms education to help build a fair society.
